POC for Go Lab - 2023
This is auditt_98's fork of Golang Gin Boilerplate
Bootstrapping projects with built-in batteries included, such as:
- Authentication (OIDC with Zitadel)
- Query Helpers
- CockroachDB
- Presigned URLS
- Validators
- Middlewares (CORS, RequestID, etc)
- Env support
- SSL support
Installation
$ go get
$ go install
Environment variables
Multiple environment variables are supported (dev, staging, prod)
There are a few ways to load the default env
1. Using the ONTHEGO_ENV
environment variable
export ONTHEGO_ENV=dev
2. Using the env=[target] flag
air env=dev
3. Default to dev
air
- Note that env=[target] flag has the highest priority, followed by ONTHEGO_ENV, and then defaulting to dev
Replace the following in the .env

Running the application
Terminal 1:
docker compose up
When zitadel is done running, you can run the application with the following commands:
Terminal 2:
air

Building Your Application
$ go build -v
Testing Your Application
$ go test -v ./tests/*
Authorization
In order to get the authorization token, a few steps are required:
- Clone https://github.com/auditt98/OnTheWall
git clone https://github.com/auditt98/OnTheWall.git

Within the folder machinekey
, theres a file called default_client_id.txt. Copy the client ID and replace ZITADEL_CLIENT_ID in the .env file
of the cloned project, ZITADEL_ISSUER should be the same as ZITADEL_DOMAIN in the .env file of the cloned project

yarn install
and yarn dev
the cloned project, complete the account creation process

You should be redirected to /profile, a token will be displayed on the page.
