Serve either serves on the previously opened sockets if started with systemd-compatible protocol, or:
- opens sockets and starts /proc/self/exe in a subprocess with systemd-compatible protocol
- gracefully terminates subprocess on SIGTERM
- gracefully restarts subprocess on SIGUSR2
