Privileged Service
Rancher Desktop Privileged Service is a helper process that performs actions requiring extended privileges on behalf of Rancher Desktop.
Build
Rancher Desktop Privileged Service is currently only available on Windows. You can build using the following:
On Linux or MacOs:
GOOS=windows go build .
On Windows:
go build .
Run
To run the Rancher Desktop Privileged Service you can use the following available commands.
.\privileged-service.exe install | start | stop | uninstall
Note: the install and uninstall commands must be run as an administrator.
Once installed successfully, the Rancher Desktop Privileged Service is listed as part
of the Services app on Windows.

Overview ¶
Command privileged-service is an implementation for a privileged service on Windows, in order to do operations that a normal user would not have access to do. This is optional in Rancher Desktop.
